The Morus Community is growing in multiple directions through collaborations with artists, researchers and curators.
Giulia Zanvit
Zanvit is a multidisciplinary artist and graduate of ESBA – MO.CO in Montpellier, lives and works in Générargues in the Cévennes. Giulia’s work is nourished by her relationship with nature, a sensitive, humble, devoted, almost sacred relationship. Breeder of silkworms herself and living at the main silkworm breeding area of the past in France-les Cévennes, she investigates stories related to the silk of her area. Giulia’s practice will be presented at the Morus Silk Symposium at Röhsska Museum in Gothenburg (September 2025).

Maja Lund
Lund is a Danish textile artist based in Copenhagen. Lund is educated in Textile Design and Crafts from University College of Copenhagen and holds an MA in Ethnology from University of Copenhagen. Her practise is inspired by landscapes and cultural history and is weaved together by artistic, artisanal and academic threads. She specializes in natural dyes and fibers, and researches relations between materials, textile practises and biodiversity. Maja’s practice will be presented at the Morus Silk Symposium at Röhsska Museum in Gothenburg (September 2025).

Deborah Jeromin

Jeromin lives and works between Leipzig (Germany) and Crete (Greece). She develops research on mainly historical topics and makes them accessible through different media. She focuses on textile handcraft processes, feminist history and sites of National Socialism. Deborah’s practice will be presented at the Morus Silk Symposium at Röhsska Museum in Gothenburg (September 2025).

Anna Karlström
Senior lecturer in Cultural Heritage at Uppsala University, Campus Gotland. Breeder of silk worms. Has lots of references from projects in South East Asia and a specific interest in intangible cultural heritage. Anna will present her perspectives at the Morus Silk Symposium at Röhsska Museum in Gothenburg (September 2025).

Giorgos Goras
Professor at the Agricultural University of Athens, teaching sericulture at the uni and practicing home-sericulture for many years. Goras generously provide the Morus project with bombyx mori eggs and biological expertise.

Elli Leventaki
Leventaki is an art historian, curator, and researcher. She is currently a PhD candidate at the Department of Theory and History of Art of the Athens School of Fine Arts, where she maps the gender aspect of exhibitions that took place in Greece at the beginning of the 20th century. Elli is interested in contesting historically dominant narratives and stereotypic notions, especially those deriving from national and/or patriarchal contexts, while aspiring to advocate for gender equality through culture and engage in discourses on art-based labour.
